We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
When you use our App, we automatically collect certain information, including:
Device Information:
Location Information:
Usage Information:
If you sign in using Google, we receive basic profile information from Google including your name and email address, in accordance with Google’s privacy policies. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email address you approve; if you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we receive the private relay address Apple assigns.
Certain profile information is visible to other users based on your privacy settings, including your username, profile photo, rider level, bike type, and ride history. Your precise location is never shared without your explicit consent. Your email address is never visible to other users (enforced on our servers), your profile location is a city-level point you choose — never your device’s GPS position — and your emergency contacts and medical information are visible only to you.
We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf:
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to court orders, government or regulatory requests, law enforcement authorities, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes.
You may access and update your profile information at any time through the App’s settings.
You may delete your account and associated data at any time in the App (Settings → Delete Account). You may also request deletion by contacting us at support@ridewolf.app.
You may disable location services through your iPhone settings. Note that disabling location will limit the App’s ability to find nearby rides and match you with riders through Ride Now.
You may disable push notifications through your iPhone Settings. Note that disabling notifications means you will not receive Ride Now matches, ride invitations, or other time-sensitive alerts.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or adjusting settings within the App.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
You have the right to request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
We do not sell personal information.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
California residents may request information about personal information shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for direct marketing.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us at support@ridewolf.app for any data rights requests.
The App is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a user under 18, we will delete that information and terminate their account immediately. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at support@ridewolf.app.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, row-level security on our database, secure authentication via the iOS Keychain, access controls and authentication, and incident response procedures. Face ID and Touch ID unlock are handled entirely by iOS on your device; RideWolf never receives your biometric data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
RideWolf collects location data to enable core features including weather, ride discovery, nearby routes, and Ride Now matching. Your precise location is only shared with other users when you explicitly enable location sharing during a ride or as part of the safety features.
Ride tracking. RideWolf never tracks your location in the background except during a ride you are actively recording. GPS recording starts only when you tap “Record a Ride” or start riding a route, stops when you end the ride, and iOS displays its location indicator the entire time. Saving a recorded ride is optional — if you dismiss the completion summary, nothing is stored. Recorded ride logs (your path, speed, and elevation) are private to you and enforced as private on our servers; other riders can never view your ride logs or location history. You can delete any logged ride at any time, and deleting your account removes your ride data.
Publishing a route. Publishing a route is a separate, deliberate act. Before you publish, the App warns you that routes are public — and for routes created from a recorded ride, that the route’s exact start and end points become visible. You can move the start and end points in the planner before publishing, which we recommend if a ride began at your home or workplace. When you publish, only the route’s path is shared — never your ride history.
If you deny location permission, the App still works: weather falls back to your profile city and route discovery shows popular routes.
The App is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App, updating the “Last Updated” date, and sending notification through the App or email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
